Are you aware of the sexual assaults that happened on campus earlier this quarter?
“I’ve actually only heard of one. I got an email for one of them that I noticed.”
What would make you feel safer on campus?
“Probably more awareness, because I didn’t even know that the blue phones existed.”
– EvCC student, Maciee Delaney
How do you feel in general about your safety around here with the recent incidents? Do you feel it’s a safe school or a safe environment?
“I’ve never really had a problem, with my safety personally. But when the emails went out, it was like ok, so there is someone who is around that could potentially harm me. So, it’s like, obviously be more aware.”
-EvCC student, Fadilah Muhammad
How safe do you feel on campus?
“If it’s darker out some of the parking lots can be hit or miss at times, especially across the street (Broadway).”
– EvCC student, Brice Howard
Are you aware of the sexual assaults that happened on campus earlier this quarter?
“I was not aware, so this is my first to hear of it.”
Do you receive the RAVE Alerts to your phone or email?
“I guess I don’t. I don’t know if they send it through Canvas or if you have to set that up. But I didn’t hear anything of it.”
– EvCC student, Jannie Lee
What would make you feel safer on campus?
“Knowing if something did happen, you know EvCC is like, ‘Hey, if you ever feel in danger, this is where you go, this is what you do, here’s like the 411 on what to do.’ Because I feel very detached from that, especially being a new student.”
– EvCC student, Christine Sullivan

Are you aware of the sexual assaults that happened on campus earlier this quarter?
“Yes. With the recent events, I park as close as I can because you shouldn’t feel scared at school. But with what’s been happening in the middle of the day and even at night it’s really sketchy to have to be by yourself on campus as a young female.”
– EvCC student, Azura Nelson
Are you aware of the blue phones on campus and their function and purpose?
“Yes. Whenever we have new senators, they present a ‘smart’ goal, as things we can do. One student actually did bring up having more of the blue emergency phones down by the fitness center and by those parking lots. So, that’s something we’re actually going to be looking into.”
– Emmerson Hunter, EvCC ASB President
