Spring will be here before you know it, fellow Trojans!

And so will spring fashion. Although spring doesn’t officially start until late March, that doesn’t stop your favorite retailers from bringing out all the new, upcoming spring fashion trends. So, why not take a sneak peek of what’s already in store and what’s to come?

After browsing through multiple fashion websites and many retail stores, I’ve compiled a list of my personal favorites. Here are the top 10 spring 2017 fashion trends separated into five categories:

Throwback to the 80’s

Haven’t you heard? The 80’s are back!
1. Graphic Tees

Nowadays, you can find graphic tees displaying bands such as Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC and more. But, if band tees aren’t your thing, you can find graphic tees with statement-making slogans, ones with food motifs and whatever else you like. There’s a graphic tee out there for everyone!

2. Denim Overalls

Believe it or not, denim overalls are a thing again. But now they also come in shortalls (the shorts version) and skirtalls (the skirt version).

3. Denim Skirts

Not a fan of the traditional denim skirt? Give them another chance this spring in an A-line, distressed mini and/or pencil skirt.

Athlesiure

You’re probably wondering what that is.

“Athleisure” is the new buzzword in fashion used to describe activewear inspired clothing that’s suitable for both exercise and everyday wear.
4. Bomber Jackets

Plain, solid colored, embroidered, fleece hoodie, you name it. Bomber jackets are trending once again.

5. Joggers

You need something to pair with your bomber jacket, don’t you? A nice pair of comfortable joggers should complete your athleisure look this spring

Pretty and Romantic

For the softer, girlier side of spring that we’re all familiar with, we have:
6.Lace

All things lace are in this spring, and that includes bralettes, bodysuits, dresses—even lace chokers!

7. Pastel

What color do you think of when you think of spring? It’s probably a pastel color. And if that’s your thing, head on over to Forever 21! They have a whole collection dedicated to pastel colored clothing.

8. Off-the-Shoulders/Cold Shoulders

You’ve seen it in fall and winter, and now you’ll be seeing it in spring. Off-the-shoulder striped tops, floral tops and sweaters are all the rage right now. But, if you’re not ready to bare it all, try a cold shoulder. They’re perfect for those who want an exposed shoulder without the commitment.

Boy Meets Girl

Girls, you don’t need a guy to wear this trend:

9. Boyfriend Jeans

What’s a fashion trend list without boyfriend jeans? No matter what, it seems like we can’t get enough of the baggy, oversized, distressed feel of a good pair of boyfriend jeans.

Comfortable, Yet Fashionable

You don’t have to dress up in order to stay fashionable!
10. Hoodies

Nothing beats throwing on your favorite hoodie at the end of the day. And thankfully, hoodies are also a fashion trend to look out for this upcoming spring, making even your laziest days, an on-trend one.

But regardless of what’s in or out, Trojans, wear whatever makes you feel comfortable, confident and ready to take on whatever your instructors throw at you!
