Strut Your Stuff: EvCC’s Annual Turkey Trot

This year’s Turkey Trot runners featured a dean in a crop top, tail feathers and a turkey head. Turkey Trot is an annual one mile run where runners predict their time and the winners are those who predict the closest to what they run. Every year EvCC hosts the annual Turkey Trot to donate food and collect money for the Volunteer of America Food bank. The top three runners who got the closest predicted time took home frozen turkeys. There was 75+ prizes available for others who were drawn at random.

According to Sue Grigsby, who created and continues to put it on every year, “Over the ten previous years of the Trot, we’ve collected 2,683 pounds of food and $2986.69 dollars.” In 2014 they collected and donated 1413 pounds of food for the food bank. This year Grigsby hopes to raise 500 jars of peanut butter.
