Have you ever been to a haunted house? Have you ever considered what it is like to be that monster sitting in the dark corner waiting for the next victim to haunt? To you they might be ghosts, zombies, and monsters who want your blood. To the actors who worked at Thomas Family Farms Nightmare on 9 Haunted House, however, it is a job just like working at a coffee stand or retail store.
“I’ve been in a haunted house before and have always wanted to do it, so I thought why not and signed up,” said Megan LaPlante, one of the scare actors who is also a student at Everett Community College. Just like that, she was transformed from your everyday college student athlete into a zombie, crazed asylum dweller and also a caged hostage waiting to play into your live action nightmare.
Your chill is their thrill; some of the actors simply have a passion for the performance. When asked what character he would choose to portray in the haunted house if he had the choice, Nathaniel Lethin who is also a Everett Community College student, said “I would have stayed with the clown because it was amazing, and given the chance I would do it again anytime, anywhere.”
So now you know, the sinister demon at the haunted house that made you scream so loud you couldn’t speak the next day might just have been your classmate or neighbor.
