Also on Tuesday will be a plant and veggie swap and sale hosted by Students for Environmental Action (SEA) club. Laura Wild, a nature lover, longtime hiker, gardener and nutrition instructor at EvCC said, “I’m excited for all [events], but the plant swap is my favorite.”

Wild, who is an advisor for the SEA club, mentioned how hard the club has been working to put on many events this year that include “the plant sale, water-quality sampling with the ORCA program, a talk by a former SEA club president [May 1] who is now a Washington Conservation Corp leader, and a field trip to an organic farm on San Juan Island.”

Laura Wild says she is looking forward to all of Earth Week’s events, but most of all the plant swap and sale. “Getting people to grow plants helps them to be aware of the environment,” says Wild.

Visit the sustainable vendor fair on Wednesday, April 24 from 9:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. in the Parks Student Union building on the second floor. Learn how local businesses put the earth first in their everyday practices and check out various sustainable goods for purchase.

To finish up the week on Thursday, April 25, there will be a chance to responsibly recycle your old electronics for free. There will be a 3-R Electronics truck parked in Lot F that can take any old, broken or out of date electronics.

Wild encourages everyone to “learn about our environmental crisis;  we have a limited amount of time to make changes.”
