Today, Thomas brought three dozen heart-shaped doughnuts. What had been intended as a romantic Valentine’s gesture for his wife the previous evening – 1 dozen for every year of their marriage – are now up for grabs. He shook his head as he said, “She actually told me, ‘These donuts are so bad they are not worth the carbs.’” He continues: “I wanted to surprise her.
