10 Songs From 2017 You Haven’t Heard Yet

We had Despacito, Rockstar, What Lovers Do and Bodak Yellow, but there are so many other songs that are equally as good if not better than the chart-toppers of 2017 that undeservingly went under the radar. Here are some other absolute bangers from this year that you probably haven’t heard yet.

Disco Tits – Tove Lo

Released in early September with little commercial success, this song by the “Habits (Stay High)” singer has been absolutely overlooked. With a beat that would make even Oscar the Grouch dance and fun, provocative lyrics, Tove Lo absolutely outdid herself with this slept on party playlist must-have.

Paper Love – Allie X

Now overall, Allie X is an artist that deserves more success than she has, but “Paper Love”, a single off her second album, could have easily been on every radio station in America. With quality production, secretly dark lyrics and a catchy whistle riff, “Paper Love” could and should be blasting out of everyone’s speakers.

Reggaetón Lento – CNCO & Little Mix

A boy band and a girl group collaboration sound like it’d be a mess right? Well, you are so wrong. Latin all-male group CNCO and British girl group Little Mix created a masterpiece that would make anyone want to get up and shake their hips. With both groups’ vocal talents and a fire production, it’s mind-boggling that this song isn’t playing at clubs around the country.

Lemon – N.E.R.D & Rihanna

After a 7 year hiatus, the funk-rock group N.E.R.D partnered with Rihanna to create one of the best comeback songs ever made. The bass-heavy beat, Pharrell’s genius lyrics, and Rihanna’s rap talents make this recently released song bound for success in the coming future.

Alterlife – Rina Sawayama

‘Alterlife’ is about finding yourself through trying to be other people. Everyone’s trying to conform to what other people think about them or trying to fit in, and part of growing up is about being able to create your own path,” British singer Rina Sawayama wrote in an email to The Fader. A deep message combined with a throwback sound and industrial guitars get you this high-quality sleeper hit.

Boy – K.I.D

This Canadian indie rock group has been gaining some popularity this year, especially since they toured with the rapper and viral sensation, Cupcakke. Whether you’re a pop fan or a rock fan, you’ll enjoy their music, including their single, “Boy”. This song has a real 90s rock sound with lyrics telling a story about the titular boy that’s hesitant about commitment with the singer and is guaranteed to put you in your feelings.

Belong to You – Sabrina Claudio

Smooth production? Check. Silky vocals? Check. Beautiful lyrics with a good message? Check and check. Rising R&B star, Sabrina Claudio created this soul-soothing self-love anthem with the help of STINT and made pure magic with this track.

Scared to be Lonely – Martin Garrix & Dua Lipa

Britpop sensation Dua Lipa and Dutch DJ Martin Garrix joined forces to create this very real and very catchy song about the fear of leaving the comfort of your relationship. Even though the track is somewhat dancy, Dua Lipa’s vocal performance turns “Scared to be Lonely” into an emotionally raw look into the dark side of relationships.

Bluecid- Sevdaliza

If there was only one word that could describe this song, it would be: mesmerizing. This song will throw you into a trance with its slow beat, Sevdaliza’s sultry vocals, and soothing acoustic guitar solo.

Heavy- POWERS

This LA-based alt duo created gold with this electro-pop track about how overwhelming an infatuation with someone can be. However, with a powerful pop sound and well-written lyrics, it’s a mystery on why this song wasn’t bigger than it was.
