College Beauty Hacks

College students across the world struggle with waking up early and being on time,  and a lot of times that cuts time out in the morning to get ready. Here at Everett Community College we want to help you make the most of your time in the morning, while getting as much sleep as possible! So here are a few tricks and tips to help you get ready and look your best on those rushed mornings!

DRY SHAMPOO:

Dry Shampoo is a great product that helps you feel fresh and look like you just took a shower! There are many different brands you can use such as, Dove, Tresemme, and my personal favorite, Not Your Mother’s dry shampoo.

At drug stores and big box retailers you can get a bottle of dry shampoo anywhere from 10 to 20 dollars depending on the brand you choose. You hold the spray bottle 6 inches from the hair and spray, let it sit for two minutes and then brush it out, tada! You have fresh clean hair without the time of taking a shower and blow drying!

Since you are cutting out the blow drying this is actually a lot healthier for your hair as well! This works great for both the ladies and gentlemen!

HAIR PASTE:

This one is for you gentlemen! Hair paste is quick and easy to use to style your hair, and it doesn’t leave that greasy look that gel does sometimes. Grab about a fingertip’s worth of the paste and rub it into your palms, then run your hands through your hair. Once the paste is set you can mold and style your hair in whatever way you want. Great brands are, night rider and crew. This product ranges from 15-30 dollars.

SPRAY ON DEODORANT:

Don’t you hate the feeling of caking on that thick deodorant that can wipe off onto your clothes and sometimes leaving you feel sticky? Try spray on deodorant! You take the spray bottle a few inches from the skin and spray on a thin layer of it. The spray absorbs immediately so it won’t wipe off onto any cloths, this works great for college students who don’t have time to let regular deodorant dry and it leaves you feeling fresh and clean!

BRAIDS TO BED:

This one is for the ladies! If you want to catch up on some sleep in the morning but still want to do something cute with your hair, I’ve got some suggestions for you.

Try braiding your hair before bed, you can do this wet after a shower or, braid your wet hair and then dry it in the braids. You’ll wake up in the morning with some beautiful beach waves once you untie the braids!

You get to sleep in a bit longer and still have a cute hairstyle!
