What brought you to the Clipper?

I am currently a 16-year-old running start student that aspires to work in fashion journalism. In my choice of attending EvCC full time, I started taking Journalism 101 where I learned about The Clipper and got to interview a few core editors of the paper and became very excited and determined to join. I am hoping to foster a fashion column and find a way to incorporate my passion into the culture of the campus and connect all students in a way we truly are all related. I also aspire to help create a more interactive and relevant media presence that amplifies and celebrates student voices with today’s current trends and fresh new takes.

What is your dream job?

My unrealistic dream career is to move to New York City and work for Vogue magazine. Vogue has always been the ideal since I was young and watched my first episode of gossip girl. They have a perfect intersection of fashion, culture, identity, and storytelling crafted by today’s current trends, the most popular celebrities, and the world’s prevalent issues to shape a print that reaches all audiences and connects us in a way that is lighthearted and unique but also targets areas that need to be brought to light and improved to create a better society. The way vogue designs their channel with visual artistry, modeling, designers, and culturally relevant events has innovated the global fashion industry in a way like no other. Being a part of Vogue would mean I get to work for the example of excellence that constantly evolves and would allow me to contribute to a culture that is diverse and innovative. sharing my voice and passion for fashion and people.

When you aren’t doing things for the Clipper, what can you be found doing?

In my free time apart from the Clipper, you can find me dancing jazz, contemporary, and ballet at my local studio I train at a few days every week, participating in my high school’s drama program and preparing for our upcoming production, or writing and filming reviews on current fashion trends and new styles. If I’m not doing something performative, I enjoy working out and doing Pilates, shopping & eating sushi with my friends, or hosting a get together and cooking for all the people I love.
