EvCC Men’s Soccer Returns to Winning Ways
The EvCC men’s soccer team returned to their winning ways with a 4-1 win over Shoreline at Kasch Park on Saturday.
A red card to Shoreline midfielder Hector Martines in the 18th minute forced Shoreline to play down a man for the remaining 72 minutes of the match. Martines had scored Shorelines only goal in the 9th minute and his departure provided EvCC the motivation to win the match.
Ariaan Cardenas scored a brace (two goals in a single match) with an equalizing goal in the 30th minute in the first half, before scoring the match-winning goal in the 56th minute.
“We came out really strong in the second half so I’m really proud of everyone,” said Cardenas.
Aaron “Gregor” Byrne scored his 13th goal of the season in fashion stealing the ball from goalkeeper Genaro Ruiz from midway in the Shoreline’s half of the soccer pitch in the 72nd minute.
Ethan Millholland scored Everett’s fourth goal of the match in the 80th minute, which was the final nail in the coffin for Shoreline.
“Definitely, after this game, they will come in with more confidence against Skagit,” said Head Coach Erik Cruz.
The Trojans Men’s Soccer team looks to extend their winning streak to two wins against Skagit Valley on Oct.11th 4:15 pm at Kasch Park.
