Why Do They Do It?
Running Start students tell their stories
Running Start students make up about 10 percent of EvCC’s campus. They’re ahead of the game and much younger than the rest of the school body, so, how do they do it? There is a wide spectrum of opinions about them, ranging from them being lazy and immature to being avidly hard-working and determined. According to Bernita Bontrager, the running start coordinator at EvCC, about half of Running Start students graduate with a degree from EvCC either at the same time as their high school graduation or after that. Hear the stories of a few of your peers who are currently in Running Start.
