The Clipper

Savannah Perkins

Savannah Perkins, Editor-in-Chief

How did you get here?
I was co-editor at my high school yearbook which is when I finally realized that I was going to be a journalist, then I began my internship at the local newspaper, the North County Outlook. I started at the Clipper in Spring Quarter 2014 and it confirmed to me that I was heading in the right direction with my love for Journalism. I became News and Features Editor and from there made my way up to the now Editor-in-Chief of The Clipper.
Why do you love The Clipper?
It is a place of growth and experience. You learn so much about the nuts and bolts of a newsroom and it is a place full of wonderful people that are all wanting to gain as much as they can from this experience. We have fun and do our best to create a product that we can be proud of.
Who is your favorite super hero?
Spiderman, by far the greatest super hero ever.  My love for Spiderman started when I wanted to make my friend angry in middle school.  She had an obsession with Batman, so to aggravate her, I pretended to fight it out, trying to prove that Spider-Man was better. By the end of my charade, I no longer had to pretend, I had convinced myself, even if I hadn’t convinced her, that Spider-Man was amazing.
What is the worst thing you have ever eaten?
I cannot stand American Cheese and it all leads back to when I was first introduced. We stopped at a random food joint while on a family road trip and I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and I had no idea that there was any other cheese in the world other than Tillamook cheddar cheese because I was like five years old. Anyway, so I took a enormous bite of this beautiful grilled cheese sandwich and then proceeded to throw up. I feel bad, like I should give it another chance now that I am older, but I cant bring myself to do it.
