What interests you about journalism?

What interests me the most about journalism is upholding our right to the first amendment, writing meaningful stories that have a lasting impact on my community, and being a voice for the voiceless. However, the major element that drew me to journalism is writing and interacting and hearing different perspectives.

What is your most marked characteristic?

My most marked characteristic is a hard-working attitude, a desire to learn and grow upon my previous skills, and perseverance in the face of difficult challenges. I am also an organized person who pays special attention to detail.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement would have to be becoming Editor-in-Chief of The Clipper. I am dyslexic (learning disability) and I did not learn how to read or write until the third grade! If you would have told me 12 years ago that I would be the Editor-in-Chief of a college newspaper, I would have told you that you have me mixed up with something else. Overcoming obstacles that come along with dyslexia is something that I am especially proud of and continue to improve upon each day.
