Gerard Millman, Social Media Manager
What interests you about journalism?
Journalism is the seeking of truth. It is the uncovering of information to tell the stories of the world and its people. Journalism interests me because I love to engage with and learn about others, I love to tell stories, and I love to bring attention to the happenings of the world around us. Everyone has a story that can teach us something, and sharing those stories is something that gives me great satisfaction.
What is your most marked characteristic?
I’m a curious people-person. I am inquisitive of the space I inhabit and observant of the people around me. More than anything, I derive a great deal of joy from interacting with other people. I will readily converse with strangers and take note of even the most mundane of details about them and the environment we are in.
What brought you to the Clipper?
I was an audio engineer for several years before I came to EVCC. Andrew Wahl, the head of The Clipper, asked me to join so that my audio and video skills can be an asset to the student newspaper. Now that I’m actively engaging in a journalistic organization, I’m excited to make the most of this learning experience and apply my abilities to this project.
