EvCC is Going Green
Earth Day is approaching quickly, falling on April 22. But at Everett Community College, students don’t celebrate for just one day. The 7th annual Earth Week is coming to campus, running from April 17 to April 20.
The Students for Environmental Action Club, or SEA Club, will be helping with the Plant Swap and Sale in the critique space of Whitehorse Hall as a way to raise money for their club. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 18.
Students can buy vegetable and herb starts, take home free plants, and purchase unique pots from the EvCC Art Club.
There will also be a raffle to win a Japanese Maple. To earn your raffle ticket, bring your plants, seeds, starts or cuttings to donate. The drop off location is at EvCC Maintenance, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Make sure you do your part for the planet and campus this Earth Day. Learn how you can get involved in Earth Week here.

Hi Megan! Thanks for the great article. Just a bit of clarification:
The EvCC Plant Swap and Sale is actually an Earth Week Series event, created and hosted by Dennis Ryan, a long time campus employee (now retired, but still participating) and supported by the EvCC Sustainability Initiative. The SEA Club joined the effort last year, (and were warmly welcomed) as a way to raise money for their group. The tree raffle is a part of the event, but not connected to the SEA Club, but rather a donation by John Syson, the EvCC Grounds Lead, and tickets for the raffle are given only to folks who donate plantsor other materials to the swap. Thanks again for getting our info out there! Molly
