The Clipper Interviews Sara Schaefer
How to pee your pants in public as an adult, and get away with it, was one of the numerous life lessons “taught” to EvCC students by professional comedian Sara Shaefer. Students were also taught how to fall in public and break your tailbone, but act like nothing ever happened. In the afternoon of Tuesday May 26, 2015 two time Emmy Award-winning comedian Sara Shaefer visited EvCC to perform stand up comedy. Sara is an accomplished comedian who worked for Jimmy Fallon, had her own MTV Show, Nikki and Sara Live, and currently has her own web series Day Job.
When Shaefer walked in to the room she immediately began talking with students, and making fun of herself for having to bring a list of her own jokes on to the stage insisting “I know my jokes.” She began by asking students what their majors were, and poked some lighthearted fun at them. This was just to get people laughing however, and Shaefer definitely made up for it by sharing embarrassing stories about herself for the rest of the show. Some of these stories included peeing her pants in the line of a busy grocery store in the middle of New York, or the reason why she has a butterfly tramp stamp.
Shaefer closed her show by thanking the audience, and insisting that they could come speak to her after the show about comedy if they wanted to.
