Up-and-coming musician Lakin performed songs from her new album “If Night Turns to Daylight” in EvCC’s Parks Student Union on January 13th.
Lakin’s new album combines sounds from a myriad of genres; from slow, soulful ballads like “Why Are You So Beautiful” to the upbeat, folk melodies of “I Choose You” to the jazz stylings of “Second Street”. Lakin’s skill is apparent in all of her songs; not only does she write and perform, she produces and arranges her music as well.
This skilled artist who (according to her website) has opened for acts such as Gladys Knight, Colbie Caillat, and Sheryl Crow added beautiful music to the busy atmosphere of the Parks Café.
You can enjoy more of this young performer’s music on her website (www.lakinmusic.com/music) and receive the latest updates on her music and life by following her on twitter and instagram
