Star Wars Battlefront: Nostalgia and Rebel Scum
November 23, 2015
PEW PEW PEW…Lasers man. “Star Wars Battlefront” was released on Nov. 17 for all consoles and PC, to start the countdown to “Star Wars: Episode VII-The Force Awakens”. This game has it all, lasers and photons, ions, protons and neutrons. Star Wars sounds like biology, but feels like childhood. The most memorable part of “Star Wars Battlefront” isn’t the game play, which is basic like Starbucks and yoga pants, it is the sounds. You have Darth Vader’s heavy panting, X-wings flying overhead and AT-ATs walking through war zones like giant metal camels.
The reviews are mixed, Metacritic has a user score of 4.5 out of 10, while IGN put up an official score of 8.0 out of 10. If you want master crafted video gaming, buy “Fallout 4.” If you want to be a Stormtrooper crushing the rebel scum, while you hum all of the Star Wars themes you have ingrained in your brain, buy “Battlefront”. Nostalgia is the selling point of this game.
There are NO campaign missions, it is all online besides a handful of training missions. Before you buy, boost your Wi-Fi. This is without a doubt a product pushed out too quickly by EA to benefit from the releasing of “The Force Awakens”, with a fricking $50 season pass, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a damn good time. You have your choice of shooters this holiday season, “Halo” was meh, you could buy the 32904876340987th “Call of Duty,” but for a good time call Princess Leia.
