The cafeteria is going artisanal. In an email from the administration, it was announced that in December when Lancer Hospitality’s contract lapses, the owners of the Snohomish Bakery and The First & Union Kitchen will take over as the food service provider in the cafeteria.

Andy Papadatos and Ingrid Harten, the married owners, have become a Snohomish staple over the past 10 years. With their use of fresh, seasonal and local produce, it ushers in a welcome change to the campus.

While you may not be able to enjoy their signature cocktails between classes, Papadatos promises to make the cafeteria smell awesome, and be a place to eat and hang out even if you aren’t hungry.

A self-proclaimed fusion-chef, Papadatos said that he likes to take risks with his cooking, and that the beginning of his career began with a lot of you gotta try this. While Papadatos and Harten will still offer some school required dishes, they intend on bringing over some of their own classics.

You can find their current menus at www.snobake.com. Come winter quarter, expect something exciting and different as Papadatos said in an interview, When you walk into school you should be able to tell where the cafeteria is.”
